Before becoming an agent, my husband and I had to put our first home on the market in a buyers’ market. We carefully searched online for the right agent, and narrowed our search down to 3 agents. Then, we interviewed all three.
Once, there was a young couple that wished to leave the city and move to the country where they could raise their family. After saving up enough money, they bought a lovely house that had once been the doctor’s office in a small town. It would be the perfect place for them to live with their 5 small children.
As time passed, the house saw many changes. There were 5 more children born to the couple- 3 of whom were born in the front room of the main floor. A second bathroom was added to the home on the main floor to accomodate the growing family. Day after day, the woman cooked, cleaned, and took care of the children, while the man meticulously cared for the house and its yard.
We have all seen the shows on HGTV and other networks where a few quick fixes transform an ordinary house into a warm, desirable home. Here are a few "quick fixes" that I found on realtor.org. They will add value to your home to attract buyers, or just give your home a lift.
1. Buff up curb appeal. Make sure that landscaping, paint, gutters, and shingles look fresh and in good condition. Also, add accessories such as flower pots or benches to distinguish your home from the others on the street.
Here is the happy family after purchasing their little home.
We just sold a house to the Ingles Family. It's a nice house on the prairie. Very quaint, but no A/C or Furnace.
